In 1830 Jaques Simon Sajou established MAISON SAJOU, an enterprise devoted to the promotion of all types of embroidery, lace supplies and notions. Monsieur Sajou also published a great number of patterns which are highly sought after by collectors to this day. After WWII and with the decline of some of the home arts, the MAISON SAJOU became defunct in 1954. Recently, Madame Frederique Crestin-Biller, an author and collector of all things embroidery, obtained the rights to this formidable old company. Her items are unique and have already been received with great enthusiasm worldwide. I have decided to group them in a special category on the French Needle site! The exception is the Sajou books which you will find in the BOOKS section. A note on thread winders: Before homes were equipped with sewing machines, cotton threads were often presented on thread cards. Ours are of excellent quality retracing the principal cards of old. They make organizing your threads a pleasure.
